Jeffrey Buchanan, Lieutenant General in the U.S. Army (Ret), served as the commander of the United States Army North (Fifth Army) and also as the senior commander of Fort Sam Houston and Camp Bullis prior to retiring in 2019. Other command or staff positions included the 82nd Airborne Division, 25th Infantry Division, 101st Airborne Division and 10th Mountain Division, as well as the U.S. Military Academy and the National Training Center. Jeff served four tours in Iraq and one in Afghanistan. In 2017, he was dispatched to Puerto Rico to lead all military relief efforts after Hurricane Maria. He currently serves as a Senior Fellow for the National Defense University (Pinnacle, Capstone, and Keystone programs) and as a Senior Mentor for the Department of the Army.  He also serves on the board for three not-for-profit organizations: Worldmaker International, The Uniformed Services Benefit Association and 360 VA.
