As our world watches thousands of innocent lives being lost and communities obliterated in an unprovoked war in Ukraine, we are hearing more and more people express a sense of helplessness. We understand. It can be easy when something is so big and out of our control to wonder, “But, what can I do? I am just one person.”
Leah Badertscher, artist, master coach and wise member of our Worldmaker community (who has twice served as Master of Ceremonies at our annual Resilience Summits) recently shared a poignant reminder for all members of the human family. Her message speaks to the power within each of us, and our responsibility to enact change every day.
What you do DOES matter. Who you are is MORE than enough. And, the world needs YOU right now. Your actions, your experience, your gifts and your resources. A special thanks to Leah for letting us share her writing with the rest of our Worldmaker community:
I will keep this simple and direct because time matters. We can help Ukraine. Here are is link to an article with opportunities to help NOW.
One of the most insidious, dangerous thoughts I coach clients on when it comes to creating the life of their dreams is: “What I can do doesn’t matter, it isn’t enough, it will never be enough.” That thought murders dreams and suffocates souls….but it is cloaked as truth, and disguised as a seemingly tiny, insignificant one – so we let it by, we let it run our lives. It is also a fatal enemy of freedom and caring for one another. But it doesn’t have to be.
We are built to care because we are built to help. Please do what you can – pray, donate, and continue to be your badass, creative selves.
“You have to act as if it were radically possible to change the world.
And you have to do it all the time.”
“All the time” is now.
